Happy Holidays!!! Though I am most happy in the sun during the long days of summer, December is one of my favorite times of year. My family shares a list of traditions which include baking Christmas cookies, watching "A Christmas Story", making gingerbread houses, having our pictures with Santa Claus, gift giving, and enjoying all the lights! Walking or driving around town and admiring all the bright and colored lights on trees, signs, houses, and parks inspires a deep sense of warmth and joy. It is impossible for me not to smile as everything glows so beautifully. Speaking of "glowing", did you know that YOU are literally a conductor of light? It's true! YOU are a light being! Scientific research has shown that the body emits visible light 1,000 times less intense than the levels which can be seen with the naked eye. In fact, virtually all living creatures emit light! The light particles in and around you are called biophotons. Google it! Hitoshi Okamura, a scientific researcher and circadian biologist at Kyoto University in Japan, said, "If you can see the glimmer from the body's surface, you could see the whole body condition"! I and many other energetic healers are familiar with this phenomena because we tap into it when reading auras or when working with the chakra and meridian systems of our clients. Science further demonstrates that our lights shine brightest when we are eating healthy foods and feeling our best. The greater your store of light energy, the greater the power of your overall electromagnetic field, and consequently the more energy is available for healing and maintenance of optimal health. (As this has EVERYTHING to do with energetic healing modalities and Reconnective Healing in particular, I will write more on this topic in a future newsletter.) But for now, my purpose in "bringing this to light" is to encourage you to take care of yourself. Nurture your body with healthy food, exercise, intellectual & spiritual stimulation, and love. Savor the holiday music, traditions, flavors, and lights. And as you do, may your light shine especially bright during this very beautiful "Season of Light"!
